shows and hurricanes and family, oh my.

The hurricane went away....but my mom and my grandparents still stayed at our apartment this weekend.

I love them all...but I'm so happy they went back home. I'm used to privacy and quiet times at home with my guy...we had none of that this weekend.

I went to see the decemberists and built to spill on saturday. The Decemberists were the best...their show was so much better than I thought it would be. They are one of my new favorite groups. Well, I'd been listening to them for a while, but now that I've seen them live....yeah. They are fantastic.
BTS - well, I knew that their show wouldn't be great...but I still wanted to see them. They played a couple of my favorite songs, but they were mostly Doug guitar solos...I wasn't disappointed because I was expecting it...

Not a bad time, but the decemberists definitely stole the show.

I worked all day on Sunday, came home, had dinner, and rested on the bed while paul did some stuff online. I wasn't planning on going to sleep...
next thing I know, it's 5:04 a.m....Yeesh.

So now I'm at work and I have a lot of stuff to do...here and at home...

But, we're alone, except for Kirin's cats...I hope they get those soon, it's a bit of a pain.

I'm glad everyone back home is safe.

Tonight Paul and I had what will probably be our last night alone for a while...

Brenda and Kirin dropped off 2 cats...so that makes 2 humans and 3 cats for now...

Tomorrow my mom is coming with another cat...Friday my grandparents are coming...and some of Yvonne's family might be here too....

I know it's going to be rough, but we'll make it. It's what family and friends are for.

I am glad I don't live in Victoria anymore. I told mom to bring my yearbooks...that's all I could think that I needed. I couldn't deal with making a choice on what to take and what to leave behind.

Dad and Kristine are going to west texas, which is a lot better than what i thought they'd be doing. I spent an hour on the phone last night crying and asking him to leave Victoria..and all I got was a stubborn, "we're not going anywhere." Today, thank god, he changed his mind.

Good luck to anyone staying behind. I hope everyone keeps safe. If this thing hits Victoria, the town is pretty much screwed.

I'm glad I have my Paul and I'm glad my family and friends are heeding the warnings and getting out.

This is serious.
